Studivanta ("we", "us", "our") operates the Studivanta website and application (the "Service"), an AI-powered study platform for students preparing for Indian school and competitive examinations. Because our users are largely students, we deliberately collect as little personal information as the Service can function with, and we never sell it. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us, information generated as you use the Service, and a limited amount of technical information collected automatically.
- Account information — your email address, a securely hashed password, and an optional display name. We never store your password in readable form.
- Study activity — the exams, classes, subjects and chapters you open, the notes, questions and mock tests you generate, your scores, XP and streak counts.
- Saved library content — material you explicitly choose to save, stored against your unique account identifier.
- Usage records — a per-day count of how many items you generate for each feature, which is required to operate free-plan daily limits fairly.
- Subscription information — your plan status and renewal state. Card and bank details are handled entirely by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
- Technical information — browser type, device type, approximate timezone, and a one-way hashed form of your IP address used only for abuse prevention.
- Support correspondence — the content of emails you send us, kept so we can follow up on your issue.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your precise location, we do not read your contacts, photos or files, we do not require a phone number to create an account, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone, in any circumstance.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service — authenticating you, generating study material and returning it to your account.
- To keep your work separate — every item is tied to your unique account ID so that no other user can access it.
- To enforce fair usage — applying free-plan daily limits and preventing automated abuse of our AI capacity.
- To improve the platform — understanding, in aggregate, which subjects and features students use most.
- To communicate with you — service notices, password resets, billing confirmations and replies to your support messages.
- To meet legal obligations — retaining transaction records where the law requires it.
4. Account Isolation and Content Confidentiality
Every Studivanta account is assigned a unique, non-guessable identifier. All study data — lessons, notes, practice questions, mock tests, scores and saved items — is stored against that identifier and protected by database-level row security rules that make it technically impossible for one signed-in account to read another account's records. Material cached on your own device is additionally stored in a per-account encoded bucket, so that if two people share a phone, signing into a second account never reveals the first account's library.
5. Artificial Intelligence Processing
When you request notes, questions, a mock test or a lesson, we send a prompt containing your chosen exam, class, subject and chapter to a third-party large language model provider so that content can be generated. We do not include your name, email address or account identifier in that prompt. Only the academic parameters you selected are transmitted. The generated result is returned to your account and is not shared with other users.
6. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser storage for a small number of strictly functional purposes: keeping you signed in (and honouring your "Remember Me" choice), remembering your light or dark theme preference, and holding your saved library on your device. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels. Clearing your browser storage will sign you out and remove locally cached study material.
7. Sharing With Third Parties
We share data only with the service providers required to run the platform, and only to the extent each one needs:
- Cloud hosting and database providers — to store your account and study records securely.
- AI model providers — to generate study content from the academic parameters you select.
- Payment processors — to handle subscription payments; they receive payment details directly, not through us.
- Email delivery providers — to send password resets and service notifications.
- Legal authorities — only where we are compelled by valid legal process.
8. Data Retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account remains active. Study activity and usage records are retained while they remain useful for showing your progress and enforcing daily limits. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, study history and saved server-side content within 30 days, except for records we must keep for accounting or legal reasons, and anonymised aggregate statistics that can no longer identify you.
9. Security Measures
- Encryption in transit — all traffic between your device and our servers uses HTTPS.
- Encryption at rest — our managed database encrypts stored data on disk.
- Row-level access rules — enforced in the database itself, not only in application code.
- Hashed passwords — stored using industry-standard one-way hashing.
- Least-privilege access — internal access to production data is restricted and audited.
No system can promise absolute security, but we take these obligations seriously and will notify affected users promptly if a breach ever materially affects their data.
10. Children and Younger Students
Studivanta serves school students, including those below the age of 18. If you are a minor, please use the Service with the knowledge and consent of a parent, guardian or teacher. We ask younger users not to submit personal details in free-text fields, and parents may contact us at any time to review or delete a child's account.
11. Your Rights
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate details such as your display name or email address.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your account and associated study records.
- Objection and restriction — ask us to stop certain processing where the law allows.
- Withdraw consent — opt out of non-essential communications at any time.
Send requests from your registered email address to privacy@getneurolearn.com. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
12. International Transfers
Our infrastructure and AI providers may process data on servers located outside India. Where that happens, we rely on providers that offer appropriate contractual and technical safeguards for the protection of personal data.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves or as the law changes. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and we will highlight material changes inside the app. Continuing to use Studivanta after an update means you accept the revised policy.
14. Contact
For any question about this policy, or about how your information is handled, write to privacy@getneurolearn.com or use our Contact Us page. We are happy to explain anything here in plain language.
